This online work is an attempt to address relations between natives & non-natives by re-examining the intent, issue and details of the Canadian Government’s ‘Certificate of Indian Status’. With this project, anyone can log-in and create their own Treaty Card, or modify the details on their already existing card to better represent their relationship to land and state. A PERL-based beta version of treatycard was originally part of the Mendel Art Gallery’s 2003 exhibition “Wildfire on the Plains” curated by Morgan Wood.
