The painted desert project is a large scale multi-year mural project. Doctor Chip Thomas has worked in and with the Navajo Nation and on Navajo land for 25 years. Many of Thomas’ works are black and white photographs visable from the road which Thomas describes as a “love letter to the Navajo Nation.” He has also invited street artists from around the world to collaborate.
