Red Cedar used to carve the whorl with a brown powder-coated aluminum pole. There are seven markers of bronze casts of the original cedar carving. The art is of a spindle whorl, a tool used to spin wool. The whorls are located at: Songhees Point site, South West Bastian of the Hudson’s Bay Company Fort, Victoria City Hall, Lawer Causeway, Beacon Hill Lookout Site, Royal BC Museum Laurel Point.
