“This mural was initiated in 2002 by Vancouver Native Education Centre, with the goal of profiling the broad range of cultures that are in this part of the city. The project involved more than 300 members of the community of all ages, including numerous artists, youth and seniors. Co-directed by Richard Tetrault, Dan Bushnell, and Jerry Whitehead, with Native Education Centre’s Sandy Staats, the mural is in mosaic with concrete relief elements, and stretches over two city blocks.

“The largest public art project in the history of Vancouver…Commmunity Walls/Community Voices reminds us that we are all creative beings, even in the midst of a turbulent world.” Michael Scott, Vancouver Sun Aug. 17th, 2002″
